This particular shoot always have a very special spot in my heart because it's the first full shoot I'm able to participate in person. It was such a magical experience as I watched the collaborations from various vendors happen in real life. Being able to make personal connection and put a face on my service to other wedding professionals is priceless. Oh, and the energy from the excitement and hustle to create as many beautiful looks in the limited possible timeline can be quite addicting!
This is also the very first time I'm able to style my own shoot with the various props from the shoots! Instead of just working with my paper goods and vintage stamps, I'm able to use Etablir Shop beautiful vintage tray, Tono and Co gorgeous custom dyed fabric, Lavenders Flowers extra botanical, and By Angeline gorgeous rough gem rose quartz jewelry. And of course, watching Donny Zavala worked his magic with his lens and film is the ultimate show of the day.
For the invitation, I want something simple and muted for the color scheme to complement the gorgeous Tono and Co custom dyed silks, with rich texture to enhance the organic botanical from Lavenders Flowers, and intricate details that match all the beautiful antiques from Etablir Shop. I chose a simple white and grey color scheme as the starting point. To achieve it, I use Silk and Willow handmade paper for the invitation suites, handmade fine lokta paper in cream for the liner, and complemented with light grey envelope for the outer envelopes. On a side note for my real brides, combining handmade paper and regular paper envelopes is a perfect solution to have that organic look but stay within the budget and adding just a little bit of color. I love using grey watercolor on white paper because the depth and details that watercolor washed created and do the opposite color scheme for the outer envelopes with white ink.
As for the actual design, I chose a classic monogram with detailed crest and border details inspired by traditional architecture elements. I use grey mineral stamps that ties in beautifully with By Angeline rough rose quartz jewelries. I carry the same concept for the rest of the paper goods; from the place cards, handwritten love letter, wax seal, and menu. I sure love to be able to put all my paper touches from the beginning all the way to the big days, so this styled shoot is one of them!
